Praised be Jesus Christ! Now and forever!
Welcome to Our Lady of the Gulf Parish,
A parish church is a spiritual family, a fellowship of disciples of the Jesus Christ. Every Christian is called through Baptism to follow Jesus Christ by worshiping the Father in Spirit and in Truth, by loving one another, by proclaiming the Gospel, and by serving those in need. We hope this website will give you a glance of how we do these things here at Our Lady of the Gulf.
We live in a privileged moment in the history of the Church; this is the time of the New Evangelization — the urgent work of preaching the Gospel, reforming the Church, and renewing human civilization. Pope Francis invites every human person to share in this work by answering the question posed by Jesus to the Apostles on the road to Caesarea Philippi, “Who do you say that I am?” (MT 16:15). This is the fundamental question of every human life, and if we are to find the happiness for which God created us, we must each confess with St. Peter: “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God” (MT 16:16).
From the moment we confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we become his students, his disciples, and his brothers and sisters. The whole of Christian life consists of learning the cost of discipleship by constant conversion from sin to living in the obedience of faith. We are not our own; we have been purchased at a great price by the precious Blood of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Supported by the prayers of our patroness, St. Mary under her title of Our Lady of the Gulf, and guided by the example of her perfect obedience to the Word of God, may we all strive to live by faith, hope, and love as disciples of the Lord Jesus.
If you are simply browsing our site, then please enjoy a quick glance at our little corner of the Lord’s vineyard. If you are moving to or visiting Gulf Shores, exploring Catholic Christianity for the first time, or returning to the Catholic Church after some time away, then you are most welcome at Our Lady of the Gulf. Please let us know if we can be of any service to you in the search to follow the Way of the Lord Jesus as a faithful disciple.
