The care ministry visits Hospitals, Nursing homes, Retirement centers and individual homes of Our Lady of the Gulf Parishioners. The mission is to provide social contact and when necessary, communion. Everyone in the Parish is a member of the “Care Ministry”. There is nothing to join. No dues, no meetings, no fees. If you are a member of the Parish, you are a member of the team. At present we visit about 30 people on a regular basis. It is not possible for Father or anyone else to make all the visits. The Care Ministry has about 16 active participants making weekly or regular visits.
Here is how you can participate. Each week as you attend mass you are surrounded by other members; some you know and some you don’t. When you notice someone has been missing for a few weeks reach out to that person by phone or, better yet, in person. If they would like to have a regular visit, you can volunteer to make those visits or at least contact the Care Ministry coordinator to let them know.
Father Carucci counts on all the parishioners to keep him informed. Telling him on the way out of Mass is not
enough.

The message for security is “If you see something, say something.” The message for the Care
Ministry is “If you DON’T see someone, say something”.
